The Myopia Hunt has built a "Walk of Recognition" to highlight the en trance of the Myopia Kennel from the stable area. A brick walk gently curving to the front door of the kennel has been constructed according to a design by Darlyn Wilkinson, one of our members. The bricks already set in the walkway are engraved with the names of past and present members of the Myopia Hunt, as well as their favorite mounts or hounds.
The project has already been greeted with enthusiasm as a way to commemorate the long history of the Myopia hounds and the many people and horses that have contributed to this grand tradition.
This is an ongoing project. We hope to have as many past and present members and their horses as possible memorialized on the Walk of Recognition. A brick would make a perfect birthday or Christmas present.
Each engraved brick will have a corresponding page inscribed in a beautiful album permanently encased at the kennel. Within the album will be a more complete description of the named recipient, in order that present and future generations will be able to review the history and contributions made by those people and their horses named in the Walk of Recognition.
The cost of the engraved bricks is $150.00 for a regular sized 4" by 8" brick. This brick has two to three lines of engraving. There are up to 17 characters per line; spaces count as a character. The cost for a large, 8" by 8" brick is $250.00. This brick permits five lines for engraving. There may be up to 17 characters per line; spaces count as a character.
