SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL HUNTER CLASSES
  • Fences: To be shown over approximately eight (8) fences of the required height. To be judged on performance
    and soundness. Hunter courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field and may include:
    gates, brush, walls, oxers, in and out, coops, aiken, rails, and panels.
  • Under Saddle: To be shown at a walk, trot, canter. Light contact with the horses mouth is required. May
    be asked to hand gallop, at the discretion of the judge, but no more than eight (8) at one time. No martingales
    are allowed. Green and non-rated hunter sections will not be asked to gallop.
  • Awards: Trophy and eight ribbons awarded in each class unless otherwise specified.
  • Walk-Trot Division
    Riders may not compete in any other classes except U/S and pleasure. Entry fee: $20 per class.

    Lead Line
    4. LEAD LINE — Open to riders 8 years of age or under. No child entered may compete in Long Lead
    W-T or W-T division. Entry fee: $20.
    5. LONG LEAD WALK-TROT — Open to riders 12 years of age or under. No child entered may compete
    in Leadline or Walk-Trot division. Entry fee: $20.

    Short Stirrup Division — MHC, NEHC AA-rated
    Open to riders 12 yrs. of age and under. May not compete in any other class at any show exceeding 18"
    in height. Fences 18". Entry fee: $30 per class.

    24. QUALIFIED HUNTER OVER FENCES — Open to all riders, horses/ponies combinations that have
    hunted at least five times in the last 12 months. To be judged 65% on performance, 20% on conformation
    and 15% on appointments. Entry fee: $40.
    25. HUNTER PAIRS OVER FENCES — To be shown over permanent and temporary fences. Horses
    or ponies to jump abreast over fences. Pairs may jump high, 3' or low, 2'6" sides of the jumps.
    Entry fee: $40.
    26. HUNTER PAIRS U/S — To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. To be judged on manners and performance
    with emphasis on suitability as a field hunter. Entry: $40.

    Low Sporting Hunter
    Open to all horses or ponies and riders. Fences approx. 3'. Entry fee: $90 for division or $35 per class.

    To be shown by Juniors 15-17 yrs. of age who must be eligible for intermediate equitation fences as of
    December 1st of the current show year. Same horse/pony rider combination cannot show in any other
    rated hunter division. Horses to jump 3', SM/MED Ponies to jump 2', LRG Ponies to jump 2'6". Entry fee: $90
    for division or $35. per class.

    Myopia Hunter Derby

    42. $2,500 MYOPIA HUNTER DER BY — To be run under a two round format. Round One is open to
    horses competing in at least one other hunter class at this show. Round Two is open to the top 12
    scoring horses from Round One. To be shown over a minimum of 10 fences set at approximately 2'6"
    in height, with four option fences set at 3' in height. Round Two will be a Handy Round with riders
    showing over a 2'6" Handy type course with four option fences set at 3'. To be judged on style,
    brilliance
    and handiness. A maximum of 10 bonus points may be awarded by the judges in the Handy
    Round. Formal attire is required. Entry fee: $150.

    57. HUNT TEA M CHALLENGE — To be shown over permanent and temporary fences not to exceed 3'.
    Teams of three horses or ponies may be ridden in succession or abreast (at the choice of the team).
    Teams may jump the high or low side of jumps. Sumner Pingree Trophy awarded to first place.
    Entry fee: $60 per team.

    SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL JUMPER CLASSES

    • Ties: All ties involving first place shall be jumped off. For all other ties, time taken to complete the first
      round will decide, unless otherwise stated.
    • Time Allowed: Based on a minimum speed of 382 yards per minute.
    • The Management, at its discretion, may allow riders to compete without riding coats. If a riding coat is not
      worn, riders must wear a shirt with a collar or choker, neatly tucked into riding breeches. A raincoat may be
      worn if conditions require. In all cases, riders must appear neatly attired.
    • Courses: May consist of any combination of the following: brush; gates; planks; panels; oxers; post and
      rails; coops; and walls
    • Poling & Animal Welfare: Manual poling and/or the use of bamboo pole offsets are prohibited. Any rider
      or trainer found poling or using offsets and/or who, in the opinion of the judges or committee, uses their
      whip or spurs in an excessive manner will be immediately eliminated from the class where the incident
      occurred, be suspended from further showing for a twenty- four hour period and will forfeit all entry fees for
      that class. Any horse upon which a violation of the manual poling and/or use of bamboo offset rule is
      perpetrated will be suspended from competition for a twenty-four hour period starting from the time of
      incident and forfeit all entry fees. Further violations by that exhibitor on the same horse or another horse
      will result in said exhibitor being barred from any further competition at this Show.
    • Championships: Champion and reserve will be awarded to the two horses scoring the most points in
      each of the following sections: Baby Green Jumpers, Low Schooling Jumpers, Schooling Jumpers.


      Baby Green Jumper
      No oxers or combinations. Fence height approximately 2'3".

      71. $1,000 CHILD/ADU LT JUMPER CLASSI C — Table II, 2a/b. Time first jump off. Entry fee: $75.

      72. $3,000 3'6" MYOPIA CROSS TEA M CHALLENGE — Course of cross country and show jumps not
      to exceed 3'6". This is a 3-member team competition with no restrictions on riders but horses entered
      in this class must have entered in one other jumper class at this show. Placings will be determined by
      adding together the time and faults of all three team members. Teams will be placed lowest to highest
      totals. (All teams are required to have a CD with their team’s music). See back of entry blank for Cross
      Challenge rules and Entry Form. Table II, 1. Time first round. Entry fee: $265 per team.
      Prize money: $900, $600, $425, $300, $250, $225, $150, $150
      73. 2'6" MYOPIA CROSS TEA M CHALLENGE — Course of cross country and show jumps not to
      exceed
      2'6". This is a 3 member team competition with only one professional rider per team and
      horses entered in this class must have entered in one other jumper class at this show. Placings will be
      determined by adding together the time and faults of all three team members. Teams will be placed
      lowest to highest totals. (All teams are required to have a CD with their team’s music). See back of
      entry blank for Cross Challenge rules and Entry Form. Table II, 1. Time 1st round. Entry fee: $90 per
      team. Ribbons through 8th Place.
